The Utah Lake Authority (ULA) invites proposals from qualified consultants or consultant teams to help design, test, and launch a durable fundraising system for Utah Lake. The selected consultant will help ULA build a practical, evidence-based approach to donors, members, sponsors, and philanthropic supporters, with the goal of creating a system ULA staff can operate after the engagement, with limited ongoing outside support as needed. ULA is seeking more than a strategy document. We want a partner who can help us research, design, test, iterate, and refine a real fundraising operation.

Past Procurements
Utah Lake Authority (ULA) is opening an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for qualified vendors of an airboat to conduct management activities on Utah Lake. This IFB will also require a trailer capable of pulling the airboat around the state and withstanding harsh conditions (e.g., mud, rough roads).
ULA will use the airboat to navigate across Utah Lake and access shallow wetlands and shorelines. ULA needs an airboat capable of handling several people and up to 1,000 pounds of gear, yet maintaining the ability to make quick maneuvers. The airboat should be designed for transporting a 100-gallon herbicide sprayer to enable invasive species treatment in hard-to-reach areas.

The objective of this project is to produce a science-based, adaptive plan that prioritizes invasive-species control and native habitat restoration, establishes monitoring indicators and decision rules, and delivers clear, costed implementation and funding pathways. Utah Lake is a vital natural and community resource providing recreation, water supply, and ecological value to the Wasatch Front. This project supports ULA’s mission of fostering thriving ecosystems, world-class recreation, and vibrant communities as outlined in the Utah Lake Management Plan.

The Utah Lake Authority is preparing a proposal to the Great Salt Lake Water Delivery Program - System Conservation. This RFI (Request for Request for Information & Budgetary Pricing) seeks informational responses and approximate pricing. This is not procurement and will not result in a contract. We are seeking proposals with pricing quotes to inform our grant application and ensure an accurate scope of work and realistic budget.
ULA is currently seeking a grant to; 1) complete the work of eliminating invasive Phragmites from around the shores of Utah Lake; 2) expand our work to include removal of woody vegetation such as tamarisk and Russian olive; 3) extend our invasive vegetation removal work up the tributaries to Utah Lake; and 4) and develop long-term strategies for maintenance and revegetation informed by data and best-practices. This work would be completed over five (5) years.
Work may include: Phragmites removal, invasive vegetation treatment, woody invasive removal (including tamarisk and Russian olive), revegetation, monitoring equipment, remote sensing, best practice benchmarking for invasive vegetation removal and revegetation, development of a revegetation plan, and development of a maintenance plan (including any equipment ULA may need to acquire).

LEARN MORE ABOUT THE PROJECT HERE: Utah Lake is lacking significantly in the area of signage. Access points have no signs naming them, trails have no wayfinding for directions, and interpretive signage is limited to just a few spots. ULA and partners want to complete a plan to guide the printing of signs at Utah Lake to ensure consistency across locations.
The Utah Lake Authority (ULA), the Utah Department of Natural Resources (Division of Forestry, Fire, and State Lands), and the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity invite proposals from multidisciplinary teams to develop a Water Impact Plan for the region. The primary goal of this study is to determine how the watershed can sustain an expected population increase of nearly one million residents and concomitant economic growth and opportunities in the coming decades while minimizing ecological harm and diversion of water from Utah Lake and the broader Great Salt Lake Watershed.
